Crops - It is used for irrigation of high value crops, like perennial trees and wines, pineapple, citrus, apple, pear, melon, vegetables (tomato, potato, capsicum, lettuce, cabbage, peas, beans, carrot, onion, broccoli, asparagus) and broad acre crops (cotton, sugar cane, lucerne, soy bean, sorghum, maize, wheat, potato, sweet corn, etc.). 

 For annual crops, a crop rotation program should be in place.

bullet Capital Cost - The price can vary based on the drip tube/tape size, emitter and lateral spacing and flow, the material of the mainline/submain, installation depth, filtration, fertigation and automation degree/requirement.

Average capital cost for a turn-key project (from the pump station to the laterals) can range between $ 2,800 to $ 5,100 per ha.
